Our story

2003: The Beginning of a Success Story

The company was founded in 2003 with a crazy and fiercely avant-garde bet: to industrialise the first MEMS micromachines at a time when the theme was only in its infancy internationally! Noticed by major institutions and renowned industrialists, the CNRS start-up led by its visionary founder, Patrice Minotti, and his team of scientists produced the first qualified demonstrators of genuine "technological leaps" such as the emblematic bio-inspired nanodrone "Libellule". The international technological and media success celebrates the beginning of the SilMach® adventure!

Years of innovation

The company designs disruptive technologies for the motorisation of quartz watches in just a few years and then, through a partnership with the DGA (General Directorate of Armaments), invents its ChronoMEMS® structural monitoring system.

Awarded internationally

Winner of the national competition for the creation of innovative technology companies organised by the Ministry of Research in 2003, SilMach® has since received numerous awards: Micron d’Or at the MICRONORA exhibition in 2004, 2014, and 2024, Science & Defence Prize in 2006, INPI Innovation Trophy in 2010, General Engineer Chanson Prize in 2014, Member of BPIfrance Excellence since 2014, INPI Talents in 2015, Victor of the company in 2016, and most recently, the "Best of Innovation" at CES 2024 Las Vegas in the "embedded technologies" category.

Thanks to these distinctions and its ongoing effort for innovation, the company is now recognised and acclaimed in France and internationally by numerous industrial players in the aerospace, nuclear, military, land transport, and watchmaking markets...
